Snaphost is a hosting platform that allows users to deploy their websites fast and easy and go from code to live site in seconds - no technical setup, no complex configurations.

Overview

Snaphost is a minimal static hosting concept designed to move users from code to live website in one quick upload flow. It strips away complex server and DNS configuration with progressive disclosure, prioritizing speed and clarity over configurability.

My role

End-to-end UX for the platform's core deploy flow, progressive disclosure strategy, dashboard structure, and final UI direction.

The problem

Hosting a simple static website today still asks users to make decisions about infrastructure, DNS, and configuration that they don't actually want to make. Even when providers say "easy", onboarding still takes 30-60 minutes across dashboards, commands, and setup pages - overwhelming non-technical users and wasting time for experienced ones.

Hypothesis

If the hosting flow is collapsed into one drag-and-drop upload without unnecessary setup, and the dashboard is simplified to show only what users actually monitor (traffic, deploys, quick links), Snaphost can reduce time-to-host by 80% and feel effortless next to legacy providers.

Constraints

1. The product had to work for users without any technical background, so terminology and dashboard complexity needed to be minimized.

2. Deploy feedback and analytics information needed to feel lightweight, not like a monitoring dashboard.

3. Provider comparison benchmarks (30-60 minutes with traditional hosts, 5-10 minutes with Snaphost) needed to be realistic enough to communicate a credible advantage without overpromising.

Solution

-Reducing time needed to host a website by 80% (Estimated time to host a website with provider "Hostinger" ~ 30-60 minutes, with Snaphost ~ 5-10 minutes)
